Scenario

Page Executive was retained by one of the world’s leading PC manufacturers to recruit a Vice President UK & Ireland. The successful applicant would be responsible for accelerating expansion in this region and growing market share against more established competitors.

Solution

The brief from our client was clear: bring us the top people from our competitors. We had to achieve this without breaching confidentiality; complicating the process further was the focus on certain high profile (and well protected) individuals; this made the proposition of moving to a competitor a harder sell. Despite this, our shortlist comprised the number one person from our client’s top five competitors, an unprecedented situation that moved their EMEA president to comment on ‘an outstanding hit rate’.

Outcome

In addition to the ‘top five’ our client asked for, we provided a long list of senior professionals from other industries and from further down the target organisations, ensuring our client had a broad selection of qualified talent from which to choose. Our search was deemed such a success that we are now a key recruitment partner across all functions of our client’s EMEA business.

Client Testimonial

We asked Page Executive to do what we always ask executive search firms to do: "Put in front of us the top people from our competitors." We normally get to see one, are told that a couple of others were not interested, and maybe one or two could not be contacted. You provided us with the number one person from each of our top five competitors for interview by our EMEA president. This was an outstanding hit rate. You backed it up with several other senior candidates - from other industries and from further down the target organisation - to ensure we had a fantastic choice to pick from.
