Lockdown brought unique challenges and obstacles for both individuals and organisations right across the UK. As restrictions are slowly being lifted, it is becoming clear that coming out of lockdown is likely to be much more complicated. New practical and legal issues are beginning to arise that employers must manage.

In our first webinar, ‘Unlocking the lockdown - part 1’, we explored the health and safety of workers as they begin to return to the office. In this second part of the series, we were joined by Miriam Lampert and Supinder Sian, Employment and Business Immigration Partners from UK and international law firm, Squire Patton Boggs to explore some of the key HR issues that businesses should be considering right now, including:

  • The new furlough rules
  • Reintegrating furloughed members of staff
  • Considerations about consultation and redundancy
  • Managing annual leave
  • Returning employees to work guidance
  • Requests for flexible working or to work from home

Miriam Lampert is a partner in the Employment Practice of UK and International Law firm, Squire Patton Boggs. She is based in London and advises a wide range of UK and non-UK based corporate clients across a variety of sectors, including technology and new Media, Media and Marketing, Recruitment, and Financial Services on all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious.
