About Our Client

Our client is a global multiple business platform with long heritage in their respective fields within Chemical industry. They are now looking to further grow their business by having a AP Trade Compliance Manager who is able to add value on the strategic level.

Job Description

This is an Individual Contributor role, and you will directly reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Head.

  • Lead the discussion to develop and create the practice strategies, collaborating with business leaders to efficiently expand the business in international markets.
  • Drive trade compliance risk management strategies and processes, consistent with requirements of all countries and regions in which the Company transacts business; develop mitigating strategies and communicate to the business.
  • Lead the International compliance and licensing function globally, establishing export & import compliance processes to comply with domestic and foreign laws.
  • Establish positive relationships with regulatory agencies, monitor regulatory changes, provide expert advice and apply them to the company's international trade strategies.
  • Lead & collaborate with stakeholders to establish processes and procedures to appropriately classify products and define standard trade terms.
  • Create and implement trade compliance training and development structures which drive professionalism and personal development.
  • Drive Customer Experience improvements for Global Supply Chain by closely partnering with customers and external business partners.
  • Manage external support partners, driving value-add relationships in outsourced activities.

The Successful Applicant

This individual must be able to thrive in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment. This individual is a results-oriented, hands-on header able to set a vision to drive change internally and be able to develop and implement complex projects. This individual must have a "can do", positive attitude and be passionate about selling a vision to senior executives.

  • At least 10 years of working experience in a Regional Trade Compliance, import/export operations, import/export compliance, or equivalent position within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Solid background and knowledge of Chemical industry.
  • Experience implementing trade controls policies and procedures and a deep working knowledge of Export Control Lists, US Trade Regulations, China Import and Export Trade Regulations
  • Excellent Interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, including a strong ability to interact productively with all levels across the company.
  • Good command language skills of English and Chinese.
