About Our Client
Platform Housing Group is one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands. With around 1,400 staff, over 120,000 customers and 47,000 homes from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that is on a journey to becoming a truly modern housing association. Platform are committed to building new homes, investing in their current communities and delivering a first class customer service.
With the new Chair taking the helm in July and a relatively newly formed Executive, this is an exciting time to join the organisation. Platform is looking to appoint four new Board Members to help guide them through the next stage of their evolution. One of the roles is a Board Member and Chair (Asset and Development Committee). This role is pivotal in helping to set the strategic direction of the Group, ensuring good governance is adhered to and that the viability of the organisation is maintained. As the Chair of the Asset and Development Committee, you will evaluate potential opportunities, including site acquisitions and joint ventures, and approve proposals that fit with the Group's asset and development strategies, including recommending strategic partnerships with Homes England and other third parties.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have held an Executive level role or the equivalent working with or for property developers, including exposure to land purchase or estate regeneration. You will have knowledge of what a healthy level of risk looks like and be used to advising boards on appraising schemes and potential partnerships.
It is essential that you have experience working for or advising an organisation of scale with a significant asset base and had a level of accountability for high value development programmes. A commercial outlook and understanding of what is needed for an ambitious organisation to deliver, is essential for this Non Executive position.
We are seeking Non-Executives who will not only bring their best to our organisation but seek to get the best out of others too.
