Board Member and Group Audit Committee Chair (hybrid)

Liverpool Permanent £14,999 - £15,000 per year
  • New board member role for one of the largest supported housing providers.
  • Board Member and Chair of Group Audit Committee

About Our Client

Riverside is a group of complementary businesses with a charitable housing association at its core all driven by a clear social purpose. The Group has three key business streams around Social Housing, Care & Support, and Home Ownership. They manage approximately 77,000 homes and are present in 176 Local Authorities.

Job Description

Following a merger with One Housing, the Group Board has refocused their strategy and is looking to deliver over the next three years in five key areas; for their customers, communities, people who need extra support, colleagues and improving the social housing sector. They are looking for a board member who will also be the Group Audit Committee (GAC) Chair.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or internal auditor who has knowledge of the social housing sector. Experience of chairing an audit committee or the ability to demonstrate the skills necessary to chair a committee are essential for the role.

The new Chair will be a good communicator, with a high level of emotional intelligence. They will have a clear understanding what is expected of GAC by board and what guidance and support to provide in a highly regulated sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on a newly merged and high performing supported housing provider.

It is important to Riverside that their governance community reflect the communities they serve. They are committed to being a truly inclusive employer and that commitment is as important for their Board and Committee members as it is for customers and colleagues. Riverside therefore welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
