Board Member & Chair (Finance Committee)
Platform HG is looking for a Chair (Finance Committee)
Newly created role to guide an organisation through a period of growth & change
About Our Client
Platform Housing Group is one of the largest housing associations in the Midlands. With around 1,400 staff, over 120,000 customers and 47,000 homes from Herefordshire in the West to the Lincolnshire coast in the East, and from the Derbyshire Dales in the North to the Cotswolds in the South.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that is on a journey to becoming a truly modern housing association. Platform are committed to building new homes, investing in their current communities, and delivering a first-class customer service
With the new Chair taking the helm in July and a relatively newly formed Executive, this is an exciting time to join the organisation. Platform is looking to appoint four new Board Members to help guide them through the next stage of their evolution. One of the roles is a Board Member and Chair (Finance Committee). This role is pivotal in helping to set the strategic direction of the Group, ensuring good governance is adhered to and that the viability of the organisation is maintained. You will bring a fresh and robust approach that will offer additional scrutiny to the treasury strategy, provide feedback on the financial performance, and advice to the board on any future funding vehicles. Strong relationship management is key to the success of this role, most importantly in updating the board post-Finance Committee and liaising with the CFO in Platform
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have previous Non Executive experience or had noteworthy exposure to Non-Executive boards. You will have significant exposure to fundraising and debt capital markets, from an advisory or client perspective. A commercial outlook and understanding of what is needed for an ambitious organisation to deliver, is essential for this position.
We are seeking Non-Executives who will not only bring their best to our organisation but seek to get the best out of others too.
