Job Description

Reporting to the Chair and working closely with the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational excellence of Synergy to define and achieve the organisations goals.

Profile

  • Industry Expertise: You will be an energy industry leader with experience across electricity generation/supply/renewable and energy transition who is able to deliver strategic industry advancements
  • Leadership: leading with kindness and empathy, you will be someone who can elevate high performance, accountability and commerciality while leveraging the executive leadership team and aligning Synergy's strategy
  • Government Engagement: You will have extensive government experience enabling you to provide clear context around business decisions to both government bodies and customers, ensuring that stakeholders understand the strategic rationale behind Synergy's operations. You will advise government on or provide feedback on the reliability and security of the system
  • You will have the ability to navigate the complex regulatory environments of a Government Trading Enterprise (GTE) to drive transformation both culturally and operationally
  • Customer Centricity: Optimise the integration of the retail, wholesale and generation customer networks to deliver significant commercial value
  • Commercial Acumen: The successful CEO will have strong commercial and technical acumen where you can introduce world class trends as well as overcome challenges in the energy industry
