The company is building a new IT services platform and is seeking a CFO to establish and lead the entire Finance function from the ground up in a rapidly expanding, acquisition‑driven environment. The role will oversee all financial operations, support M&A activities, and ensure robust governance and integration across multiple acquired companies.

About Our Client

The client is a European private equity firm specialized in buy‑and‑build strategies, focused on consolidating fragmented sectors through disciplined governance, operational support, and long‑term value creation. The group invests across several Western European markets and is launching a new IT services platform in Italy, which will serve as a strategic hub for future acquisitions.

Job Description

  • Build and lead all administrative, accounting, tax, and controlling processes for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Drive the financial integration of newly acquired companies, ensuring unified systems, reporting, and governance.
  • Design and implement a structured management control framework, including analytical accounting, KPIs, ERP systems, and recurring reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements and deliver monthly economic, financial, and cash reporting to management and investors.
  • Monitor budget deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage group treasury, cash flow, working capital, and net financial position, including acquisition financing instruments.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financial institutions, and external advisors.
  • Support the CEO, board, and investor in developing strategy and industrial plans.
  • Participate in M&A processes, including due diligence, target evaluation, and post‑acquisition integration.
  • Coordinate external auditors, legal, tax, and corporate advisors, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks (231, GDPR, ESG).
  • Oversee HR‑related administrative matters such as payroll and contractual processes.
  • Prepare documentation for board meetings, committees, and assemblies, ensuring accurate formal minutes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Economics, Management Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Solid experience in entrepreneurial environments with direct exposure to private equity and complex financial structures.
  • Proven track record in M&A transactions and buy‑and‑build programs.
  • Expertise in building management control systems, and strong understanding of administrative and accounting processes across multi‑entity groups.
  • Knowledge of OIC accounting standards and ideally IFRS.
  • Experience managing structured financing and relationships with banking institutions.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to coordinate administrative teams across multiple companies.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, pragmatic mindset, and problem‑solving orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, management teams, and investors.
  • Preferably experienced with ERP systems and advanced reporting tools.
  • Fluent in English.
