The company is a growing national outdoor service provider to federal, provincial, municipal governments and large national corporations.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership to the senior managers in the company, both east and west, and create a unified company
  • Standardization of processes and procedures in each branch
  • Oversee the execution of the company's strategic plan and report on progress to the board of directors
  • Chair the management committee and set priorities for others inside the company that are consistent with the strategic plan
  • Assist with and lead business development and client relationships and maximize cross selling of clients between branches
  • Ensure that acquisitions completed by the company are integrated
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership
  • Ultimate responsibility for the company's finance, budget, accounting, IT and HR functions
  • Oversee the allocation of capital between divisions and overall management of resources
  • Assess risks to the company/its growth and ensure they are managed and minimized
  • Provide the board with quarterly updates

The company have a decentralized organization structure with a President of West and the President of East reporting into this role.

The CEO can be located in Calgary, Toronto or Ottawa.

The Successful Applicant

The business is growing through organic and acquisition means - as such would need the following skill set and experience from a CEO;


  • have previously been a CEO or COO at a company with multiple branches
  • be process driven, potentially an engineer/CA
  • high degree of experience and capability in operational efficiency
  • have previously been responsible for the profitability of a company with revenue of at least $100mm
  • be financially literate and comfortable with reviewing financial statements and have worked with KPIs
  • continually drive effective results
  • have excellent ability to lead and manage and build a cohesive company/culture
