Chief Financial Officer - Construction

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a well-established, industry leading construction company based in Tallahassee, FL. In this key leadership role, you will oversee all financial operations, providing strategic guidance while actively managing the day-to-day financial activities with a small, capable team. This position requires someone who is comfortable being deeply involved in the details while maintaining a high-level strategic focus, typical of a dynamic, medium-sized enterprise.Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.
• Oversee accounting, job costing, project budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
• Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification, and revenue/expense analysis.
• Ensure the company's financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, insurance, bonding, and risk management activities.
• Support operational teams by establishing job cost controls, financial performance metrics, and project profitability analysis.
• Lead and mentor a small finance and accounting team.
• Drive improvements in processes, internal controls, financial systems, and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with the Company President and leadership team on long-term business planning and growth initiatives.
• Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
