Falklands Island Government (FIG) also provides services specific to the needs of the Falkland Islands, such as fisheries research, power generation and the Government Air Service, FIGAS.
Job Description
The Falklands Island Government (FIG) are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to run their finance, audit, pensions and tax functions for the organisation. The role reports into the CEO who used to be the Chief Executive at Leicester City Council.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other Executives at FIG, playing a crucial role in the success and delivery of FIGs objectives.
- Ensure that Group financial systems and processes are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth within a strong assurance framework.
- Updating the capital forecasting and reporting for the five-year investment programme.
- Leading, and developing the finance functions for the Group and the commercial organisations.
The Successful Applicant
You will be a CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant with a proven track record of achievement, with the ability to drive and manage a diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will have worked in or had exposure to local authority or a civil service environment and be used to the highly political nature of working with a wide-reaching organisation.
You will have led a thriving team and established a culture in a previous role. It is also important that you have previously held a senior management position with regular exposure to/or being part of the Executive Team. Working with boards or committees is also essential to be successful in this role.
