Job Description
- Legal matters that affect the Group with regard to Japan legal matters;
- Overseeing all legal work undertaken within the Company day-to-day;
- Initially, dual responsibility in compliance function and serving as Internal Control Manager for financial advisory (M&A) activities;
- Supporting both secondary securities sales and investment banking team;
- Supporting the management of the Company, in terms of keeping the management apprised of legal and regulatory updates that will affect the business;
- Putting in place appropriate training and creating new policies and procedures to reflect the changes or updating existing ones, which includes changes to financial services regulations;
- Working closely with the Legal teams from different offices world wide, as well as the local Japan Internal Control team;
- Supporting the management in oversight of operational matters ideally with some understanding of finance, tax and employment rules and also trade settlement;
- Working with teams in other jurisdictions;
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified in Japan or an English speaking country;
- PQE in financial services;
- Compliance background in financial services;
- Fluent Japanese and English language capabilities are required;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of integrity;
- A self-starter who is independent and able to take the initiative;
- Strong analytic and evaluative skills;
- Able to work alone and with a team;
