About Our Client
Our client is a large international organization, a true leader in their market, and we are supporting them in hiring the best talent for a new position to be created in Poland. The person in the role will act as Head of Tech Enablement - by focusing on setting standards, choosing the best tools and optimizing the CI/CD toolchain used by the entire large software development team in Poland. They will also manage a substantial software engineering team themselves, which develops and maintains IT solutions and products for their customers and employees. We are seeking candidates with a strong track record in team management coupled with excellent hands-on experience as a senior Java and/or Python developer. The role can be located in one of the larger cities in Poland including Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Łódź and others.
Job Description
- Focus on the short and long-term strategy in terms of the CI/CD toolchain used by the firm
- Think ahead and future-proof the organization in terms of the tools used
- Set standards and a establish the toolchain to be used by the whole software development structure
- Take responsibility for a large team of software developers
- Manage the firm's various platforms - including development, changes management and maintenance
- Implement and foster a service-oriented culture and deliverables with strong domain expertise
- Define and measure team performance and delivery outcomes
- Lead budget planning and implementation
- Daily management of the enablement services, it's quality and components
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
- Manage complex IT changes in an international and diverse environment
The Successful Applicant
- 10+ years of experience in application development, test design and hands-on experience in common CI/CD component services
- Able to strategize and think ahead
- Attitude of acting as the service owner, with adequate attention to detail
- Hands-on coding and experience in at least two programming languages - demonstrated proficiency with at least one of the following languages: Java, Python or Scala
- At least 3 years of direct people management experience
- Deep understanding of engineering craftsmanship
- Understanding of Agile principles and processes
- Highly adaptable, comfortable with change as well as capable of quickly rallying teams around key issues
- Being Tech-Savvy with high communication skills
- Excellent management skills coordination, coaching and helping employees with professional growth
- Very good knowledge of English and Polish are a must
