About Our Client

For our client, an international Retail group, we are recruiting a senior finance leader who will take full responsibility for building and leading the Commercial Finance function across multiple European markets. The role has been newly created to elevate the organisation's commercial decision-making capabilities, strengthen financial governance, and provide deep, insight-driven business partnering to the executive community.
This is a high-impact Director-level appointment reporting directly to the Group CFO and operating with broad influence across commercial operations, pricing, gross margin management, distribution, and long-term value creation.

Business Context
The organisation has successfully completed a multi-year turnaround and is now entering a phase of sustained growth, geographic expansion, and rising operational complexity. Historically, elements of Commercial Finance were dispersed across functions and markets, without one central owner driving strategy, performance and decision-making end-to-end.
The newly created Commercial Finance Director role will address this gap by shaping and leading a fully integrated commercial finance agenda across dozens of different markets. The role moves the company beyond traditional financial reporting into proactive value creation, scenario planning, commercial optimisation and strategic influence at Director and ExCo level.
