Job Description

Varied role as Senior Director/ Contracts Manager In-House Counsel includes:

  • Oversee the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of commercial and residential property contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Advise on legal matters impacting the company's property portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders and coworkers in other brands to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Manage external legal counsel relationships.
  • Lead and mentor a team of five legal professionals (legal/ contract administrators and paralegals).

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Director/ Contracts Manager In-House Counsel should have:

  • A law degree from an accredited ABA university.
  • New York State Bar (in good standing).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial and residential real estate contract law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to property.
  • Excellent written skills, strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team, previous line management experience essential.
  • Ability to strategically align legal and business objectives and communicate legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
