On behalf of a globally active, mid-sized industrial company, we are seeking an accomplished COO (m/f/d).

Our client is a well‑established player specializing in low-volume production, special manufacturing, and engineered-to-order industrial solutions. With a significant global footprint and an ambitious performance and transformation agenda, the company is entering a crucial phase focused on operational optimization, restructuring, and sustainable turnaround initiatives.

The appointed leader will play a key strategic role in driving the organization's business forward, strengthening operational performance, and steering transformative change across the region.

Job Description

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the regional strategy in alignment with global leadership.
  • Drive transformation programs to increase competitiveness and operational maturity.
  • Identify, assess, and drive operational improvement initiatives across all manufacturing sites, with a strong focus on Lean methodologies, continuous improvement, process optimization, and efficiency gains throughout the region.



Operational Excellence

  • Oversee all regional production sites and operational functions.
  • Lead continuous improvement, lean, and efficiency programs to elevate performance.
  • Establish robust KPIs, management systems, and process standards to ensure world-class quality, delivery, and productivity.



Restructuring & Turnaround

  • Lead restructuring initiatives to stabilize operations and improve financial performance.
  • Restore underperforming units through decisive action, process optimization, and organizational redesign.
  • Implement sustainable measures to secure long-term operational excellence.



Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams across multiple sites.
  • Maintain strong relationships with global functional leads, key customers, and strategic partners.
  • Represent the region within the global leadership team, ensuring alignment and transparency.

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive senior leadership or C-level experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in transformation, restructuring, operations improvement, or turnaround leadership.
  • Experience in low-volume, bespoke production or engineered-to-order environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on operational capability and execution strength.
  • International leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.
