About Our Client

Our Client, a renown international player in the FMCG (non-food) is looking to recruit a new Corporate Affairs Manager for the Benelux region in order to enhance their positioning. The Benelux organization is comprised of 3 markets, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Benelux functions are responsible for delivery across the whole business. The need for strong collaboration and team working across the geographies and stakeholder management is critical.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement and drive the LEX campaign plans required to successfully promote the company's Benelux's Corporate Affairs agenda
  • Deliver and manage the CSR agenda, in support of the Benelux regulatory affairs agenda
  • Building and sustaining a relevant media network in the whole of BENELUX
  • Build and develop new stakeholder networks (advisors, academic, NGO, FMCG), supplementing and strengthening existing networks
  • Manage the press and spokesperson function in the Benelux market(s)
  • Work as member of the Leadership Team in close relationship with the local Managers
  • Work in close relationship with senior managers of EU Rep Office in Brussels for continuous refinement of campaign plans and network development
  • Edit and maintain the Benelux Corporate website
  • Developer and custodian of relevant and consistent corporate messaging and the corporate behavior, including any public media and social media networks (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Benelux Corporate Website)
  • Develop and build new media and other communication channels across BENELUX

The most important metrics by which successful performance will be judged are:

  • Benelux LEX campaign plans achieve the set goals, resulting in demonstrable promotion of the Corporate Affairs agenda
  • On time in full delivery of CSR agenda as part of the strategy
  • New stakeholder network delivered, providing valuable contributions
  • Media network and new communication channels delivered, and integrated into campaign planning and execution
  • Visible leadership of communications excellence across the end market

The Successful Applicant

  • University Degree or similar level gained through experience
  • Minimum of 7 year's experience in corporate communication / public relations
  • A background in or affinity with journalism is considered a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver successful campaign plans in a complex environment
  • Sound understanding of business and politics at strategic and tactical level
  • Ability to balance contradictory interests and find win-win solutions in adversary environment
  • Excellent communication skills and capacity to drive people
  • Excellent Dutch, French and English language skills is a must
