The Manager of M&A & Corporate Development will act as a key member of the leadership team. They will be responsible for supporting evaluation, execution, and integration of acquisitions of electrical contractors and energy efficiency businesses.

A private‑equity‑backed electrical and energy services company pursuing growth through acquisitions and organic expansion. The business operates in a project‑based environment where performance is driven by job execution, margin discipline, revenue recognition, and working capital management.

Job Description

Deal Execution

  • Manage all aspects of due diligence, including financial, accounting, tax, and quality of earnings review, coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders
  • Manage deal timelines, workstreams, and third-party advisor relationships to ensure efficient, on-time closings
  • Support valuation analysis and investment memo preparation for acquisition targets



Post-Acquisition Integration

  • Own integration planning and execution for acquired businesses, partnering with operational and finance leaders to drive synergy realization
  • Develop integration playbooks and project manage cross-functional workstreams including finance/accounting, IT, HR, and operations
  • Track and report on integration KPIs and value creation milestones post-close



Strategic & Financial Analysis

  • Support the CFO with ongoing financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Assist with lender reporting, sponsor communications, and board materials as they relate to M&A activity
  • Evaluate adjacencies and new geographies as the platform matures



The Successful Applicant

Required

  • 4-7 years of experience in investment banking (M&A, leveraged finance, or coverage), other corporate development roles, Big 4 transaction advisory, or private equity
  • Deep familiarity with financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, and purchase accounting concepts
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present clearly to senior executives and board members
  • Willingness to travel within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region as needed



Preferred

  • Prior experience at a PE-backed platform or in a corporate development role at a services company
  • Familiarity with the electrical contracting, specialty trades, or energy services industries
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent credential
