This role will involve overseeing optical design, working closely with material and mechanical engineers, and driving the product development pipeline from concept to commercialization. The CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technological roadmap and ensuring seamless integration across engineering disciplines.Technical guidance in Optical Engineering:Drive the design and optimization of advanced diffractive and refractive optical systems for IOL and ICL applications.Design and develop of simulation and improve workflows using tools such as Zemax, Code V, or equivalent software.Address optical technical issues, including chromatic aberrations, light efficiency, and image quality, with innovative solutions.Cross-Disciplinary Product Development:Work with material engineers to evaluate and integrate biocompatible materials for optical applications.Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure precise alignment of optical and mechanical components.Oversee iterative prototyping and testing processes to refine product designs and ensure manufacturability.Research & Innovation:Identify and incorporate emerging trends in optical engineering and material science into product development.Drive innovation in ICL technology, ensuring compatibility with IOL applications and next-generation product requirements.Manufacturing & Scalability:Develop and implement manufacturing workflows for optical and mechanical components, including tooling and quality assurance protocols.Oversee the scale-up process from prototype to mass production, ensuring consistency and efficiency.Work with vendors and internal teams to manage production timelines and maintain quality standards.The Successful ApplicantA successful CTO - Optical Engineer should have:PhD in Optical Engineering or a related field.10+ years of experience in optical design and engineering, with a strong focus on IOL, ICL, or similar ophthalmic products.Proficiency in optical design software (Zemax, Code V, etc.) and hands-on experience with optical metrology and testing.Proven expertise in diffractive and refractive optics, with a track record of successful product development and commercialization.Familiar with materials science and mechanical integration as it relates to optical products.Experience with regulatory standards and quality assurance for medical devices.Exceptional teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams.What's on OfferAn estimated salary range up to $300,000 USD, bonus and optionComprehensive benefits package including 401k and medical insurance.As CTO, you'll be at the helm of groundbreaking advancements in optical engineeringWorking alongside a passionate and talented team to deliver solutions that transform vision care globally.ContactAnnie ShenQuote job refJN-122024-6626219Job summaryFunctionEngineering & ManufacturingSubsectorEngineering & Manufacturing SubsectorIndustryLife SciencesLocationOrangeContract typePermanentConsultant nameAnnie ShenJob referenceJN-122024-6626219
