Job Description

DCM Senior Product Owner has a heavy involvement, directly working with the DCM business partners; there is also involvement with Development, Infrastructure, Compliance, Finance and other Control teams where there is overlap. Interaction with intra company and third-party vendor relationships also play a key part in the delivery of this role.

Bridge the gap through relationship building between technical team (Infrastructure, developers etc) and the business (DCM Trading and Issuance Desks), to relay updates to stakeholders.

successful candidate will:

  • Manage the IT engagement and relationship with the DCM business at a senior level, acting in a product owner capacity to manage backlog and prioritisation for both BAU and project change items
  • Bridge the gap through relationship building between technical team (Infrastructure, developers etc) and the business (DCM Trading and Issuance Desks), to relay updates to stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Maintain communication throughout the change lifecycle in a consistent manner, with regular reporting to sponsors and stakeholders, as well as coordinating regular status updates with the IT teams (managing a backlog)
  • Work closely with FO business stakeholders and the development team to deliver a variety of change associated with the Capital Markets DCM business, by providing direction and ownership
  • Contribute and grow project delivery disciplines and an enhanced customer experience; provide role modelling, leadership, and motivation within the DCM Engagement community
  • This role is responsible (but not limited to) ensuring the smooth functioning of the DCM business within the bank. It includes all change raised by the DCM Trading and Issuance Desks and ensuring stakeholder approval of delivered solutions
  • Proactively identifying, specifying and documenting business needs and areas of improvement from key business stakeholders
  • Leading and facilitating working group discussions and workshops
  • Understand the implications of each project/change and ensure that risks and issues are monitored throughout, in particular timely escalations and proactive actions to meet objectives
  • Working across functions of the company, including business analysts, developers, middle office and operations, to meet business needs at a strategic level
  • Follow our governance process
  • Create and contribute to team processes and procedures
  • 3rd Party relationship management
  • Keeping abreast of market updates by participating in external committees including ISDA Data & Reporting Working Groups, Tradeweb Working Groups, UnaVista Working Groups etc.
  • Support the continued evolution of the DCM business workstreams

The Successful Applicant

DCM Senior Product Owner Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • In depth working knowledge of DCM products is crucial.
  • Understanding of DCM trading methodologies and the trading environment including, but not limited to hedging, arbitrage and risk
  • Essential to have experience overseeing Front Office engagement and work item prioritisation, working within an agile framework
  • Good working knowledge of agile methodologies within Financial Services required
  • Experience in a Product owner or Business Analyst role within financial organisations or software vendors essential
  • Experience of front to back-office DCM system knowledge required
  • Understanding of bank operational processes and BAU expectations
  • Understanding of EU regulatory environment: EMIR, MiFIR, BASEL-based capital / liquidity systems
  • Demonstrated experience of creating business / technical requirements and specification documentation
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering software and business solutions management end to end, design, definition, and delivery of technical solutions in-line with strategic goals within financial organisations or software vendors
  • Demonstrated experience handling communications at all levels across the whole business including dealing with high level stakeholders in a financial environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A Business, Finance, Science or Mathematics degree or qualification and relevant business experience in a similar role
  • PMP, Agile certification or equivalent preferred (not required)
  • Good Excel-based spreadsheet / quantitative and data management skills
  • Familiarity with SDLC - BA and project management methodology
  • Familiarity / Hands-on experience with manual / automated testing environments
