My client is growing business based in regional Queensland. They are on an exciting journey of growth and improvement, with a strategic focus that places their customer at the heart of what they do. They are currently leading several significant infrastructure projects that will make a difference to the local community and the Queensland economy. They have a large asset base and various complex and interesting projects to be delivered in the coming years.

Job Description

Reporting to the CFO and collaborating with the leadership team, the Deputy CFO will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, financial management, and maturing the organisation's approach to risk to support the organisation's growth.
As Deputy CFO, your key responsibilities include all aspects of finance and statutory reporting, including preparing the organisation for the annual audit process. You will oversee finance activities required to support the business as it goes through an exciting journey of growth and improvement. This includes the production of value-add management reports and working with the executive leadership team to share commercial insights.

The Deputy CFO will lead the strategic direction of a small multi-disciplinary team with a hands-on operational focus. You will hold full responsibility for finance, risk, tax, and compliance. You will deputise the CFO with a career pathway to progress with the business.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a CA or CPA Qualified accountant. A natural leader who has worked in a small finance function where the organisation has been through either growth or transformation. You will be a strategic operator who can see the big picture and plan where to allocate attention to deliver results and manage risk effectively. Your skill set will be broad across all areas of finance, and you will be comfortable with a hands-on role as the business grows and evolves. Ideally, you will have experience in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective risk management and compliance frameworks. You will have exceptional stakeholder management experience and be able to build strong relationships across the organisation.
