Job Description

As a Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our renewable energy projects in Australia. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial conception to final investment decisions, ensuring successful project development. You will also contribute to the strategic development of the projects by providing valuable commercial and planning expertise

  • Oversee wind projects from inception to construction completion.
  • Manage external consultants to facilitate project development.
  • Ensure projects adhere to budget and timelines
  • Collaborate with the Origination Lead to investigate development constraints for prospective sites and projects in the feasibility stage.
  • Generate project reports detailing progress, budget, schedule, issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Attend community events and engage in discussions on key development considerations.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with project landowners from project initiation to construction handover.
  • Evaluate the technical and commercial viability of projects and identify potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Coordinate the development of project reports and investment cases to support decision-making.

The Successful Applicant



  1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on the pre-construction phase, is required, with a preference for expertise in wind development. Experience in solar energy is also advantageous.


  2. Ideal candidates should possess tertiary qualifications in fields like engineering, town and regional planning, or environmental planning.


  3. Demonstrated experience in planning and development application processes is essential for this role.


  4. Strong project management experience within the renewable energy industry is a prerequisite.


  5. Proven experience in the development of renewable energy projects is highly valuable.


  6. An understanding of Grid requirements is necessary to ensure the successful development of renewable energy projects.


  7. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence outcomes and decisions are critical attributes.


  8. The capability to operate at a detailed level, manage multiple tasks, and see projects through to completion is important.


  9. An understanding of local community dynamics and effective negotiation skills with landowners, regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders is a plus
