About Our Client
Our client is global pharmaceutical player with strong presence in European markets currently looking to expand their footprint in Asia. With 2020 expected business size of around 250 million RMB the company is ambitious to triple the business size in next 6 years.
They are looking to bring more global brands to China as well as to look at local M&A and In Licensing opportunities with focus on OTC and Generics.
Job Description
- Position the company in the China market as the preferred partner for the European offering BD opportunities also for the corresponding Chinese partner
- Identify, negotiate and close acquisition (product) and/or licensing deals with companies located in China for their business expansion to European markets
- Alliance Management of Existing relationships with local Chinese companies
- Evaluate deals for co-development and local manufacturing in three main streams non-prescription, generics and speciality pharmaceuticals
- Leading cross functional teams with Portfolio, Technical development, Finance, IP/Legal, Regulatory and Marketing
- Prepare business case and create various management approval decks for acquisition cases
- Proactively collaborate cross-functionally, Headquarters and Head of Emerging markets
The Successful Applicant
- Over 10 years of Generic Pharmaceutical industry experience in full-cycle Business Development deals
- Deep knowledge of the Chinese pharmaceutical & OTC industry with strong relationships with the industry leaders and direct access to the top management level of potential partners
- Pharmaceutical forecasting, financial analysis, P&L modelling and competitive dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry experience
- Leadership experience in country specific Business Development transactions, including product identification, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances
- Ability to evaluate and understand scientific information relative to the development of successful in-licensing and out-licensing programs
Strong negotiations skills for commitments and time lines from internal and external parties - Fluent Mandarin and English
