About Our Client

Our client for the Global Director of Communications opportunity is a global chemical and materials manufacturer and supplier servicing customers in Automotive, Electronics, Construction, Packaging, Consumers Goods and more. With a commitment to innovation and sustainability this organization and ensuring to bring the best products to market while also achieving their internal and customer sustainability goals making the world a better place.

The Global Director of Communications will be responsible for driving and shaping the organization's global communications strategy and execution encompassing all internal and external communications, with a strong focus on internal communications and branding. This person will lead a global team and work heavily with the global executive management team. The Global Director of Communications will report to the Vice President of Human Resources, and functionally to the CEO.

Job Description

  • Lead the global communications strategy and execution working closely with the CEO and Executive leadership
  • Drive the global corporate identity driving a strong corporate global brand
  • Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights across the global to shape and communicate the overall vision
  • Define and execute the global internal and external communications strategies with global communications team
  • Drive global employer branding strategy working with HR and Talent Acquisition to ensure sourcing and attracting top global talent
  • Oversee and executive the overall internal communications strategy pertaining to corporate initiatives, content creation, intranet, social media, etc.
  • Manage and maintain all public relations strategy and activities
  • Support and guide team members - Regional Marketing Communications Managers on all marketing activities and execution including but not limited to global tradeshows, messaging, sales enablement, customer presentations, marketing collateral, corporate website, etc.
  • Support and drive communications pertaining to the global sustainability goals and initiatives

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required - Marketing, Communications, or Related
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading marketing and international communications, public relations in a global company
  • Must have experience in a business to business manufacturing in Chemicals, Plastics, Specialty Materials or related
  • Must be hands on with proven ability developing brand and marketing communication strategies
  • Strong digital marketing skills
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to drive relevant and critical initiatives
  • Experience working with a global company and working with global customers/counterparts working with different cultures
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and strong presentation skills working with internal and external stakeholders including executive management (VP and C-level)
  • Ability to travel 40% domestic and international
