As the Director of Investor Relations this person will be responsible for developing and executing the global investor relations strategy and program in collaboration with the CFO. This role will accurately reflect the company's strategic value proposition and enable the most effective two-way communication between the company, the financial community, and other stakeholders.

About Our Client

Our client for the Director of Investor Relations opportunity is a global diversified manufacturer.

As the Director of Investor Relations this person will be responsible for developing and executing the global investor relations strategy and program in collaboration with the CFO. This role will accurately reflect the company's strategic value proposition and enable the most effective two-way communication between the company, the financial community, and other stakeholders.

This role will work closely with the CFO, CEO, Executive Board and other executive leadership team members and will serve as the primary corporate spokesperson and relationship manager for the investment community, as well as financial media stakeholders. This role will act as a thought partner to the leadership team to effectively position the company with investors and priority stakeholders. In addition, this role will provide insight, feedback, and coaching to the leadership team with regards to investor perceptions and expectations. This role will report directly to the CFO.

This person can work hybrid - office and home based but must be located in the Greater Detroit Metro area. Relocation is required if not currently in the Detroit, Michigan Metro area. Relocation assistance is available and provided if needed.

Job Description

  • Leads the global investor relations program, including strategy and execution
  • Provides insight, feedback, and coaching to the leadership team with regards to investor perceptions and expectations.
  • Works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, CEO, and CFO and corporate leadership to drive ESG strategy and reporting for the Company.
  • Develop and drive strong working relationships with investment community with all existing and potential shareholders and investors
  • Collaborate on company decisions that will create or negatively impact value for shareholders and/or affect the company's reputation.
  • Educate and update investors and analysts by creating balanced and consistent investment messaging in partnership with the appropriate senior leadership.
  • Leads the collection, analysis, and presentation of feedback to the company of investors' perceptions and opinions, brokerage security analysts' positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis.
  • Collaborates with Public Relations, Advertising, Brand Management, Marketing, and Internal Communication on communication-and-media strategy, operating plan, key messages, integration and consistency of messages and efforts, product sharing, and support to operating employees for strategic communication.
  • Speaks on behalf of the company at investment presentations, institutions, individual meetings and discussions, and with the media.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships of trust and respect with analysts and investors and responds to external requests for financial and strategic information in an accurate, appropriate and timely manner.
  • Finds, supports, and encourages prospective investors by broadening awareness and interest through conferences, presentations, meetings, media, and mailings.
  • Leads the creation of the publications and electronic media used in the Investor Relations program and communications

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related
  • MBA high preferred
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience showing progression and dynamic ability working in investor relations, finance, accounting, strategy, or similar roles
  • Previous experience working in a b2b manufacturing company
  • Prior experience working in a multinational company with multinational stakeholders
  • Exceptional financial acumen and analysis skills and understanding
  • Strong executive presence and exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task with limited supervision
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff including the CEO, CFO, and Executive Board
  • Business minded and strong team player mentality
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail with a passion to win and positively influence a company culture
