About Our Client

Our client for the Director Operations Finance role is a global automotive supplier with over 20,000 employees and close to 100 locations globally. This organization has a strong product portfolio that will continue to service the legacy automotive market and is heavily investing and is currently a major player in the future of automotive in the electric vehicle space.

The Director Operations Finance will report to the CFO Americas and be the strategic finance business partner to the Regional CFO, Operations Leaderships, and the corporate finance executive leadership team. The Director Operations Finance will work with Corporate HQ in Europe to ensure standardization, policies, and financial strategies are being implemented and executed across 12 locations in the US and Mexico including OE and Aftermarket manufacturing plants. This position is located in North Carolina, relocation will be required. Relocation assistance is available and provided by the client.

Job Description

  • Provide executive leadership in the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives and offers recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Responsible for timely, accurate, and consistent reporting of financial information, including full monthly, quarterly and annual closing for the business unit
  • Report to executive management customer profitability and analysis of performance of results and variance vs budget
  • Actively participate in Executive Management Team meetings; provide updates relating to Financials and other areas of responsibility.
  • Work with the regional CFO, Corporate leadership team and Vice Presidents of Operations to drive strategic financial decisions
  • Oversee 8 manufacturing plants and 4 distribution centers ensuring operational finance processes, KPIs, policies and standards are being met
  • Establish and report against KPIs for the business units and corporate
  • Ensure accounting policies adhere to Group Policies
  • Oversees the organization's risk management including establishing and improving internal controls and procedures
  • Responsible for the company's Information Technology function including the company's ERP system and the IT technology used for enabling business efficiency
  • Work as a business partner in a matrix reporting structure with Plant Controllers, Operations VPs, Directors of Finance, and others
  • Analyze data and prepare presentations to leadership
  • Own the finance strategy for capital expenses, special projects and new investments
  • Travel to manufacturing locations in the US, and Mexico, and potentially to European headquarters

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or similar required
  • MBA and/or CPA/CMA highly preferred
  • 10 years of experience in Controllership and Operations Controllership roles within the manufacturing industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience is a Sr. Financial Leadership position
  • Must have Automotive industry experience
  • Must have experience and familiar with SAP
  • Ability and proven track record working with various departments - sales, finance, accounting, HR, engineering, manufacturing, etc.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing operational improvements to increase revenues, decrease costs and improve cash flow
  • Business minded and strong team player mentality
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Languages skills in Spanish or German - very helpful but not required.
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail with a passion to win and positively influence a company culture

What's on Offer
