Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a Director of Policy and Market Analysis with an energy tech business in London. You will:

  • Translate the Board's growth strategy into reality by communicating it across the business, establishing a programme of work to deliver against it and providing regular updates to the Board and ExCo to ensure that they course and speed are visible and can be adjusted as necessary
  • Horizon scan and work with Government, the Regulatory and customers to understand their priorities for systems enhancements and delivery of new policy interventions
  • Work across the business and with key stakeholders to develop propositions that meet HMG / regulator / customer objectives that can be taken forward into delivery e.g. load control for electric vehicle smart charging
  • Prioritise new opportunities for the business and work with the technology and regulatory teams to understand how and when they could be delivered
  • Horizon scan for relevant market developments and changes, analyse them and provide briefing for the Board and ExCo on potential implications for the business
  • Encourage and guide business engagement plans to ensure those who wish to innovate on the businesses platform are effectively supported and encouraged to become
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key Government Departments and Regulators
  • Advise the Chairman, CEO and Board on an appropriate stakeholder engagement strategy at this senior level to support delivery of DCC objectives

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Proven track record of building relationships and collaborating with Government and regulators
  • Experience in horizon scanning policy landscapes and commercial markets, analysing change and interpreting what that means for an organisations
  • Development of delivery plans to implement high-level strategies
  • Capability to maintain and refine strategy to reflect the changing landscape
  • Development of concrete propositions for delivery of policy interventions or technology innovations in either the Energy telecommunications or IT sector
  • Ability to prioritise across a complex and conflicting demands
  • Innovation facilitation and business development in highly regulated and complex environments
  • Stakeholder mapping / engagement
  • Proven leadership skills working across peers and as a line manager
