Over the coming decade Perth Airport will expand T1 International, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and the first airport hotel, representing the largest aviation infrastructure redevelopment in the Southern Hemisphere.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Planning & Projects Officer, the Director will lead a high performing team, including PMO leadership and delivery support functions, to implement frameworks, optimise processes, and foster stakeholder engagement at all levels.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Strategic Leadership: Lead the continuous development and execution of the capital portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with Perth Airport's long-term vision and corporate objectives.

* Portfolio Governance & Delivery: Govern and oversee the delivery of programs within a $5 billion capital portfolio, applying advanced project and program management. Ensure governance structures are in place to manage risk, compliance, and quality standards while minimising operational disruption in live airport environments.

* Business Planning & Budgeting: Develop, obtain approval for, and monitor annual business plans for the portfolio, ensuring integration with corporate strategy and quantified business. Take accountability for establishing and managing portfolio-level budgets, maintaining alignment with organisational objectives and financial performance targets.

* Frameworks & Processes: Establish and maintain portfolio-wide governance frameworks, tools, and processes that enable consistent monitoring, reporting, and decision-making. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements. Drive standardisation and continuous improvement across all delivery functions.

* Performance Monitoring: Implement data-driven review processes, metrics, and reporting systems to monitor performance across cost, schedule, risk, and quality dimensions. Identify variances and corrective actions promptly to maintain delivery integrity and stakeholder confidence. Ensure lessons learned and best practices are systematically applied across the portfolio.

* Team Leadership & Development: Provide leadership for high-performing teams - foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Mentor senior leaders, build organisational capability, and define clear succession pathways for critical roles. Champion employee engagement and capability-building initiatives.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Manage complex relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, delivery partners, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Develop and execute stakeholder engagement. Ensure timely communication and alignment of objectives in a live operational environment, balancing competing priorities and operational constraints.

* Executive Reporting: Provide regular, transparent reporting to the Chief Planning & Projects Officer and executive leadership on portfolio progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Deliver insights on performance trends, compliance, and strategic actions to support informed decision-making at the highest level.
