About Our Client
Our client for the Director of Procurement opportunity is a global leading automotive supplier. As the Director of Procurement for the Americas region, this person will report to the Regional President and lead all procurement and supplier management activities for the region. This person will lead a team across the region and be responsible for setting and executing the regional strategic goals that support the regional and global growth targets.
Job Description
- Responsible for the development of supplier management strategies and execution of the strategies with assistance from supporting staff
- Ensure supplier performance is being met with on time delivers driving the regionas strategy and working with the global supplier teams
- Work with suppliers to ensure and hold accountable for meeting delivery and quality standards
- Ensure purchasing staff is fully trained and engaged with program launch teams in order to support the timely and accurate supplier sourcing that meet internal cost targets
- Develop supplier partner relationships at the executive level to support business growth, while finding creative solutions to reduce costs without damaging the relationship
- Implement existing and /or develop procurement processes and procedures that comply with internal control policies
- Work with the Regional President and global teams on the regional strategic planning process
- Must ensure that all compliance-related procedures are followed for sourcing - and implement procedures if required to ensure that internal control policies are followed
- Perform supplier audits as required
- Support both Sales & Engineering in any acquisition activities and be active part of supplier interfaces
- Partner with various other cross functional teams including, but not limited to finance, engineering, and manufacturing/operations
- Ensure sourcing and supply base is aligning and meeting objectives for new program launches
- Lead, plan and execute special assignments from the Regional President and Global Chief Procurement Officer
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related
- MBA preferred
- 10 plus years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, and supply chain
- Must have automotive industry experience - preferably from a Tier supplier
- 5 years of management experience leading teams
- Strong experience and understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Production Systems methodologies
- Prior experience working in a multinational company with multinational stakeholders
- Ability to act as an advisor on professional and technical issues with a view toward reaching strategic decisions
- Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff
- Business minded and strong team player mentality
- Strong communication skills written and verbal in English
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail with a passion to win and positively influence a company culture
What's on Offer
Competitive base salary $215,000 - $255,000, annual bonus, LTIP (long term incentive plan), full benefits, life insurance,) 401K, unlimited vacation, holidays. Being a part of a growing and innovative company with high visibility to the executive leadership team.
