Job Description

I am currently recruiting two hugely exciting Director of Policy roles for a global professional services firm in London. Both will be expected to cover the regulatory waterfront, in both conduct and prudential, but in particular the following areas are of particular importance: Prudential policy and Insurance.As a Director within the Regulatory Insights Team, typical engagements you can expect to be involved in include designing or reviewing:

  • Developing long-term views of the strategic direction of regulation
  • Changing regulation (eg Duty of Care, Insurance pricing)
  • Innovative business models and fit with regulation
  • Developing regulatory models overseas
  • Approach to climate change, ESG
  • Senior manager appointments
  • Approaches to authorisation
  • Rapid communications for clients on changes to regulation

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Play a significant role in the delivery of our engagements to clients through the articulation of the companies findings, conclusions and recommendations in writing or verbally
  • Take responsibility for engagement planning and management on a day to day basis
  • Act as day to day lead on client site, managing teams where required
  • Own the analysis of emerging issues, the articulation of a business point of view and the development of business proposition on agreed topics
  • Where needed, lead the proposals process for new client opportunities
  • Work effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support and updating senior members on progress
  • Mentor staff and conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Experience of working at senior level as a regulator, in regulatory affairs or regulatory consulting in another Advisory firm
  • Knowledge and experience of regulation, especially insurance or prudential policy
  • Excellent client liaison and communication skills as well as commercial awareness
  • Ability to develop new business opportunities for the regulatory team (or other colleagues) to deliver
  • Strong project management experience
  • Ability to work in a client facing and consulting role, with the ability to build networks and relationships
  • Experience of managing and developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring will be required.
  • Up to date knowledge of the regulatory environment impacting Insurers
