About Our Client
The Director of Quality Americas will be responsible for leading the manufacturing quality initiatives and standards across 8 manufacturing plants in North and South America. The Director of Quality will be customer facing to address and resolve all product quality issues. The Director of Quality will also lead Health and Safety (HSE) for the business unit across the assigned manufacturing plants. The Director of Quality will report to the Division President and work closely with the Director of Operations. The position is located in Southern Wisconsin and will require relocation. Relocation assistance is available.
Our client for the Director of Quality Americas opportunity is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier with over 10,000 employees in over 25 countries. This supplier is a leader in technology with a broad range of solutions and continues to invest in R&D and product innovation. Their products range from interior, exterior, to powertrain within the passenger vehicle applications.
Job Description
- Lead manufacturing quality initiatives across multi plants in the region to ensure quality standards are being met and exceeded
- Represent the Voice of Customer regarding quality standards
- Establish and report against KPIs for the business unit with the Division President
- Manage and executive all operational decisions regarding quality and environmental, health, and safety across assigned manufacturing plants
- Work in partnership with the Director of Operations on improving operations driving lean and six sigma practices
- Conduct internal reviews on quality management systems based on ITAF, ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Drive change and process improvements across multi manufacturing plants
- Ensure the APQP and Reliability deliverables are met for existing and New Product or Process Introductions
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Must have Tier 1 automotive experience leading quality systems across multi plants
- 10 years plus of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality, health and safety in automotive tier 1 environment
- 5 years of management experience leading multi plants
- Must have experience with automotive OEMs, Ford high preferred
- Experience working in a global organization working with direct leadership and in a matrix reporting structure
- Experience with SAP highly preferred, but not required
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Experience within plastics and/or injection molding manufacturing highly preferred, but not required
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office application
- Business minded and strong teamwork
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus
- ISO14001, ISO45001
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Ability to travel 50% in the US, Mexico, and Brazil (once permitted after Covid 19)
