Job Description

  • Lead and scale the organization's technical accounting function, providing clear, defensible U.S. GAAP guidance as the business grows and evolves
  • Own technical accounting policy development and governance, ensuring consistency, rigor, and scalability across a complex global footprint
  • Serve as the primary advisor on high‑judgment accounting matters tied to growth initiatives, new products, and evolving business models
  • Partner on strategic transactions including acquisitions, carve‑outs, restructurings, and standalone public‑company readiness
  • Drive strong compliance and control outcomes, ensuring accounting conclusions are SOX‑aligned, audit‑ready, and well‑documented
  • Prepare and oversee high‑quality technical accounting memoranda supporting regulatory, audit, and internal governance requirements
  • Collaborate closely with SEC Reporting, Controllership, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Corporate Development to balance growth objectives with accounting integrity
  • Act as a trusted counterpart to external auditors and advisors, confidently defending accounting positions in a dynamic environment
  • Help build durable accounting infrastructure that supports long‑term scale, complexity, and public‑company expectations

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is a CPA‑qualified technical accounting leader, with deep experience applying U.S. GAAP in complex, fast‑moving public‑company environments.

  • CPA required, with Big 4 training (audit or national office), and subsequent experience in either:
    • a publicly traded company, or
    • a mix of public accounting and public / late‑stage private industry roles
  • Proven expertise in complex transactions, including:
    • Divestitures and carve‑outs
    • Spin‑offs and separation accounting
    • Acquisitions and purchase accounting
  • Strong hands‑on experience with share‑based / stock‑based compensation (ASC 718), including awards, modifications, and valuation considerations
  • Demonstrated depth in subscription‑based revenue recognition (ASC 606), including judgment around standalone selling prices, contract modifications, and complex revenue arrangements
  • Solid experience with business combinations, including:
    • Goodwill and intangible asset identification and valuation
    • Impairment analyses (ASC 350)
    • Accounting for acquired tangible and intangible assets
  • Advanced capability in technical accounting research and memo drafting, with conclusions that withstand auditor and regulatory scrutiny
  • Comfortable operating in high‑growth, high‑change environments, balancing business enablement with strong compliance and governance
  • Confident partner to senior finance leadership, legal, tax, FP&A, and external auditors
  • Recognized for sound judgment, clarity of communication, and practical application of complex accounting guidance
