The Executive Director of Finance and Technology plays a critical role at Advance, providing strategic leadership of all of the finance, business assurance and technology functions. They cannot deliver their priorities without effective infrastructure, sound financial management and good governance. In this role, you will provide the backbone for a well-run organisation, enabling them to succeed in their mission.

Job Description

Advance is looking for a new Executive Director of Finance and Technology to join their Executive Team. The role will be responsible for;

  • Working closely with the rest of the Executive Team and the Board to contribute to the strategic leadership of the organisation, playing a crucial role providing financial challenge.
  • Leading, motivating and developing a performance-led team.
  • Managing the finance function to deliver robust financial controls, improving liquidity and mitigating the risk for Advance.
  • Designing, implementing and supporting the highest quality business assurance and technology services for the organisation.
  • Ensuring the organisation is resourced with the appropriate skills, capabilities, systems and processes to deliver the strategies that are put in place by the Executive.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a qualified accountant who has previously held executive or senior leadership roles. Ideally you will have worked in social housing or the charity sector, with experience leading multi-functional teams and knowledge of the regulatory environment. 

Having a passion and interest in the social housing and care sector is a must for this role. You will help them to continue evolving to become a sustainable organisation for the future. Some exposure to systems implementation, change and transformation would be beneficial for this position.
