A Single Family Office based in New York City is seeking an experienced accountant to assist the Family Office. You will spearhead accounting software management, budgets, contracts, financials, and any ad hoc tasks that may arise from time to time. This role will be in office 5 days per week.This position will be a key member of the Family Office, supporting its mission to be a steward of capital with a strong focus on long-term preservation.

Single Family Office with offices based in midtown Manhattan

Job Description

* Maintain comprehensive accounting records, financial statement preparation, account analysis, reconciliations for multiple entities and locations.
* Prepare accurate annual budgets and forecasts for cash needs for several entities.
* Monitor daily cash activities.
* Manage accounting software for the Family Office and develop reporting.
* Work with the family to analyze spending, including monthly credit cards, and manage costs.
* Manage banking relationships and payments in multiple currencies and locations.
* Manage vendor contracts and negotiate contracts on the Family's behalf.
* Manage insurance policies and coverage.
* Develop financial policies and policies for expenses and payments for Family Office Staff.
* Work with the Finance Director and external advisors to provide all necessary information for tax return preparation.
* Identify and implement improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience; priority given to Family Office accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and high level understanding of accounting softwares.
  • Strong working relationships with HNWI and Family Offices.
  • Must have exceptional attention to family related details.
  • Must demonstrate teamwork with colleagues and flexibility with family matters.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and driven to produce output of the highest quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
