If you would like to learn more, please submit your resume for consideration.Job DescriptionFinancial Reporting & CompliancePrepare and present timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and construction industry standards.Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.Oversee payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions.Financial Leadership & StrategyServe as the senior finance leader, providing strategic financial guidance to the Company President.Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.Support the company's growth by evaluating financial risks and opportunities.Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including cash flow forecasting and long-term financial planning.Optimize financial resources to support business objectives and project funding.Project & Cost AccountingOversee project accounting functions, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, budgets, and profitability by project.Work with project managers to develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.Ensure proper job costing and allocation of labor, materials, and overhead expenses.Monitor contract performance, billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards (e.g., percentage-of-completion accounting).Budgeting & Cost ControlDevelop annual budgets and financial projections in collaboration with department leaders.Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability and efficiency.Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for operational improvements.Technology & Process ImprovementImplement and enhance financial and accounting systems to streamline operations.Leverage construction accounting software for improved reporting and decision-making.Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the finance function.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related FieldCPA, CMA, Master's Degree preferred but not essentialProven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing an accounting function7 - 10 + years of progressive Financial Leadership tenureConstruction sector tenure preferred but not essentialFinancial software and ERP systemsWhat's on OfferBase Salary, target range: $120,000 - $130,000Annual bonus eligibility (discretionary)401k plan/company profit sharing planPTO AllowanceNational Days VacationInsurance: health, dental, vision, life, disabilityIf you would like to be considered for this opportunity based in Burlington, Vermont (on site 5 days per week) please submit your resume for consideration.ContactChristopher KnightQuote job refJN-032025-6700293Job summaryFunctionCFO & Financial ManagementSubsectorCFO & Financial Management SubsectorIndustryProperty & ConstructionLocationBurlingtonContract typePermanentConsultant nameChristopher KnightJob referenceJN-032025-6700293
