About Our Client
We are excited to partner with this international E-Commerce agency, focusing on digital strategy & data services helping international brands to successfully launch in China. Our client has been operating in China for over 5 years and has acquired an outstanding expertise in developing and executing e-commerce strategies. The scope of their services includes end-to-end implementation Online and Offline channels management, Digital Marketing & Conversion optimisation as well as Logistics and Distribution services. Their customer portfolio includes Health, Beauty & Care and other consumer categories.
Our client has consistently remained profitable with double digit growth over the previous 5 years, while expanding their headcount to 70 employees. The board of investors are now looking to further scale the operations and commercial footprint China by hiring a Shanghai based General Manager / Commercial Head with strong focus on sales growth and overall business management. This individual will drive new business development and profitability of the company, and eventually stepping up as Head of China business, looking after all functions.
An exciting opportunity for the candidates to shape up the future of this business unit in China, scale the team and develop themselves together with the expanding business. This position will require fluency in English and Mandarin, leadership skills and hands-on sales experience in E-Commerce.
Job Description
As General Manager of the business you would be reporting directly to Founders and Board of Investors. Ultimate goal is to secure the revenue and profitability while doubling the business by 2021 and grow the team to 200 people. In order to do that, the General Manager's focus would be on defining a business strategy and communicating the vision with the team, as well as and driving Sales, Marketing and E-Commerce team performance.
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidate profile would include:
* Proven track-record of building high-performing teams in E-Commerce agencies or TP.
* Strong hands-on approach and cross-team leadership skills (Sales team, E-Commerce or Operations).
* International exposure and ability to bridge International Brands with China market.
* Proficiency in English and Chinese.
What's on Offer
You will be taking the senior leadership role in an international e-commerce business and designing its mid-long-term strategy. The package will include base pay, bonus scheme and equity part.
