About Our Client

We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to take on the role of General Manager at one of Hong Kong's most prestigious private member sporting clubs. Reporting directly to the elected General Committee/Board of Directors, the individual will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial management of the Club.

Job Description

  • Work in close partnership with the General Committee to execute the Club's strategic vision, ensuring alignment with its mission and long-term objectives.
  • Lead all aspects of club operations, finance, sports development, and member services, ensuring excellence in all areas.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on club policies, infrastructure development, and future growth initiatives.
  • Oversee compliance, risk management, and governance, ensuring adherence to local regulations and club policies.
  • Oversee the Club's financial sustainability, ensuring effective budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
  • Lead sponsorship and corporate partnership efforts, securing funding to enhance the Club's offerings and international presence.
  • Identify and maximise new revenue opportunities, balancing commercial growth with member-focused services.
  • Manage an ongoing clubhouse refurbishment and development program, ensuring seamless execution of upgrades.
  • Oversee capital projects and infrastructure improvements, ensuring they align with the Club's long-term strategic vision.



The Successful Applicant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic leader to oversee the operations of a prestigious private member sporting club. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing the overall operations of a large private member sporting club.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to work effectively with an elected committee within a member-owned club.
  • Hands-on operational experience in running a multi-faceted sporting club, including a busy Food and Beverage operation.
  • Expertise in project management, which will be highly valued given the Club's ongoing member engagement and future development plans.
  • Background in the Club's core sports, particularly sailing and paddle sports, which would be an advantage.
  • A deep understanding of public relations, media, and corporate communications to effectively engage with members, local government, staff, and external partners, including corporate sponsors.
  • Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin would be an added advantage.
  • Deep expertise in sports, food & beverage, and leisure/entertainment industries.
