Job Description

In order to support this exciting new era, the organisation is looking to appoint a skilled General Manager to lead the business and be the driving force behind its continued growth. Using your industry experience and strong interpersonal skills, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from the previous owners and setting the business up for continued success.

You will manage the leadership team across corporate functions as well as operations and warehousing. Additionally, you will partner directly with suppliers domestically and internationally to build and execute plans as well as assess and provide best practice advice and improvements across the supply chain model and inventory management system.

With the support of expert consultants, you will also lead and oversee product development; staying ahead of the curve on market trends, you will ensure that the company remains at the forefront of innovation. This includes travel to international trade shows as required.

The Successful Applicant

You will have a reputation for integrity and trust, a growth mindset and a proven ability to manage operations and deliver business growth while mitigating risk. You will have a track record of success in the furniture, imports, or light manufacturing industry, with a deep understanding of best practices for supply chain & inventory management. You will be a leader with excellent communication skills and be able to quickly learn, listen, and build strong relationships with both customers and the existing internal team. With a clear strategy and direction, you will build out the organisational structure and assess the business operating model for opportunities for growth and risk.
In addition, you will bring rigor and process to the role, serving as a leader with experience managing teams in both the warehouse and office. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with both customers and our existing team.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience leading a division in a larger business, with a total revenue of $20 million or more.
