The Global Head of Sales - Automotive will report directly to the President and CEO and will lead a global sales team driving a collaborative and problem-solving approach to maintain and grow sales with global OEMs. The Global Head of Sales will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial organization developing and executing the overall sales strategy and execution.

Our client for the Global Head of Sales - Automotive is a leading global tier 1 automotive manufacturer and supplier. This mid-size organization is a market leader in their product and application sector with manufacturing and sales offices across North America, Europe and Asia.

Job Description

  • Increase market share and development new business opportunities with automotive OEMs
  • Build strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products
  • Customer P&L responsibility driving revenue and margin growth, exceptional customer service and delivery, and ensuring program launches
  • Develop strategic roadmaps for key targets and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to grow market share and diverse product portfolio
  • Achieve and exceed Budget Sales and Gross Margin for your OEM customers
  • Ensure all reports, plans, forecasts and administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner both personally and for the team.
  • Drive performance with Sales Managers and Program Managers, including mentoring, coaching, and professional development
  • Meet all reporting deadlines as are set by senior management
  • Identify new and profitable opportunities with existing customers and leverage these to increase profitable sales with them
  • Provide regular and relevant feedback on Market conditions, competitor activities and progress towards business objectives.
  • Analyze the current market position, i.e. the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Participate in APQP meetings and follow up on commercial and customer related issues

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Engineering preferred
  • 15 plus years of automotive sales experience calling OEMs
  • 3 plus years of sales leadership experience leading a sales and program management team
  • Must have experience with multiple OEM customers
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments
  • Must have experience with highly complex automotive parts, assemblies, and systems
  • Must have experience with business development, program launches, and account management
  • Analytical and organizational skills, high level of attention to detail
  • Strong business and financial acumen and negotiation skills
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Experience working in a global organization
