About Our Client
Our client is a key player in the fashion and apparel industry with great reputation - being known for its high quality and continuous emphasis on sustainability for past two decades. They are now looking for a global head of sustainability to sit in either Hong Kong or Singapore.
Job Description
Reporting to the Global CEO, you are effectively the Group CSO leading a team of 4-5 to drive sustainability agenda for the organization. Given the evolving emphasis on ESG across the market, this role will be instrumental in driving excellence and best practice - both internally and externally. You will have an overall responsibilities in looking into various environmental issues as well as social impact (labour, welfare, work condition) while looking into different ESG standards and picking the relevant ones that can serve the purpose in setting the bar (without causing "audit fatigue").At the same time, being the representative of the company as an active member in different kinds of industry coalitions, you will be the face of the company to help push for higher industry standard.Most importantly, from external perspective, you will need to constantly communicate and educate the customers on the sustainable products and services that keep innovating to ensure the buy-in from key stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate should have strong understanding about the ESG ecosystem - ideally from manufacturer/brands of consumer goods/fashion industry. Prior vendor/consultancy experience (e.g. specialised ESG consultancy firm/testing companies) will be ideal while you should have the global view and on-the-ground understanding about Asia where the key operations and markets are.
