Job Description

HEAD OF COLLECTIONS AND RECOVERIES STRATEGY OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • RESPONSIBLE FOR EFFECTIVELY LAYING OUT THE OVERARCHING VISION AND STRATEGY, BRINGING TOGETHER THE WAY THAT THE BANK INTERACTS WITH OUR CUSTOMERS IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES TO OPTIMISE LONG TERM STRATEGIC VALUE BY DELIVERING STRONG CUSTOMER OUTCOMES.
  • ADHERING TO ESTABLISHED GOVERNANCE, THE ROLE HOLDER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING ON:
    • ESTABLISHING THE VISION AND STRATEGIC DIRECTION OF THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGY FOR THE BANK, ACROSS ALL RETAIL PRODUCTS AND THEN EXECUTING AGAINST THE DEFINED STRATEGY.
    • OVERSIGHT AND SERVICE MANAGEMENT OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGY DELIVERY including COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE REGULATIONS AND BANK POLICIES.
    • ENSURING OPTIMISED OPERATIONAL AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE WHILST DRIVING THE BEST OUTCOMES FOR CUSTOMERS, WITH COST MANAGEMENT IN LINE WITH AGREED BUDGETS.
    • DEFINING THE BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT OF COSTS, RISKS AND CONTROLS ASSOCIATED WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE INCLUDING MONITORING RESILIENCE PLANNING AND ANY ASSOCIATED RISKS.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • ACCOUNTABLE FOR SETTING THE VISION AND DRIVING DELIVERY OF THE BANKS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGIC AGENDA, AND BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE PERFORMANCE, GOVERNANCE, AND OVERSIGHT OF THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FUNCTION, INCLUDING WHERE REQUIRED, EXTERNAL 3RD PARTIES, ACROSS ALL SECURED AND UNSECURED PERSONAL PRODUCTS.
  • SHAPING THE STRATEGIC VISION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, OPTIMISING CUSTOMER AND COMMERCIAL OUTCOMES WHILST MAINTAINING AN EFFECTIVE 1ST LINE OF DEFENCE (1lod) CONTROL FRAMEWORK, INCLUDING 1lod REGULATORY CONTROLS TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE AND OTHER APPROPRIATE REGULATORY CONTROLS.
  • OWNING EXECUTIVE LEVEL RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY THIRD PARTY PARTNERS TO LEVERAGE THEIR CAPABILITIES TO OPTIMISE ALL ELEMENTS OF OUR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGY
  • DRIVE COLLABORATION WITH STRATEGIC ANALYTICS TO ENSURE THE RIGHT SEGMENTATION OF ACCOUNTS FOR EACH STRATEGY, THAT OPTIMISE THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGY FROM A CUSTOMER AND COMMERCIAL PERSPECTIVE.
  • ACCOUNTABLE FOR ENSURING ROBUST ENGAGEMENT WITH FINANCE AND CREDIT RISK TO UNDERSTAND AND MONITOR ANY FINANCIAL IMPACTS AND BENEFITS OF THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE STRATEGY ACROSS ALL PERSONAL PRODUCTS.
  • SHAPE AND DEFINE CONTACT STRATEGY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WHILST ENSURING REGULATORY COMPLIANCE.

  • PROVEN TRACK RECORD IN DEVELOPING STRATEGIES DRIVEN BY A FOCUS ON CUSTOMER, COMPETITION, COMMUNICATIONS AND COST.
  • LEADERSHIP: ABLE TO BRING TOGETHER A COMPLEX SET OF MATRIX TEAMS SETTING THE VISION AND STRATEGY AND CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT AND CULTURE FOR THE TEAM TO SUCCEED.
  • EXCELLENT ANALYTICAL THINKER WITH DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO USE DATA TO DRIVE AND EVOLVE STRATEGIES. ABILITY TO THINK BOTH AT A STRATEGIC LEVEL AND AS REQUIRED DRILL INTO DETAIL, WITH A DEMONSTRABLE ABILITY TO DELIVER STRATEGIC INITIATIVES ON TIME, MANAGING A WIDE RANGE OF PRIORITIES WITH MULTIPLE OBJECTIVES.
