Job Description

I am recruiting for a Head of Economic Incentives with an energy business in London. You will:

  • Eensure that new incentive regimes that the business is subject to balance the need for the business to be stretched in its performance, but also for them to be achievable and deliverable by our supply chain



  • Provide regular briefings to the Board, ExCo and the Shareholder on performance against our incentive schemes - including the early identification of risks



  • A pragmatic approach to the identification of mitigating actions for any risks - this will require thought leadership and creativity



  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the new post 2025 incentive regimes are fit for purpose and enable the business to deliver what is asked of it



  • Build strong relationships with Government, Regulators and other key stakeholders and leveraging these as appropriate in support of the business objectives. A strong, collaborative and positive relationship with the regulator is particularly important in this role.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have experience in providing strategic advice to senior level of decision-makers in business or Government.

The successful candidate will be able to provide substance and thought leadership for the development of new economic incentives and the ability to advise on how best to achieve the organisation's objectives whilst operating within the existing framework.

They will be experienced at working in a complex and heavily regulated environment with multiple stakeholders, and in collaborating with multi-functional teams.

They will have excellent communication skills and senior stakeholder management expertise allowing them to tailor communications to explain complex issues concisely and clearly.

Candidates will need to demonstrate strong leadership, demonstrate coaching skills to help others learn from them, and be able to manage and prioritise time and workload and adapt to changing priorities.
