Job Description

The person hired for the position of EMEA Area Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) Lead will serve as a change agent providing advice and counsel for decision-making and operational planning to support the overall EHS strategy to deliver targeted performance outcomes. Collaborating with operations teams utilizing company's execution model, the leader will manage a team to implement EHS standards and guidelines.As an Area EHS Director, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

- Actively contributing as a member of the global EHS Operating Committee, serving as a change agent for continuous improvement and transformation, while influencing the organization cross-functionally

- Implement EHS strategies in conjunction with business groups and operations to ensure achievement of business objectives in changing market and production conditions at manufacturing sites

- Lead Risk Understanding and Reduction efforts - protect employees and company assets by eliminating incident injuries, property damage, and adverse environment impact; ensure plant equipment and processes have adequate capabilities to meet the company and local governmental EHS legislation, regulations, and policies; lead emergent issue management communication and resolution

- Communicate and champion EHS data and methodologies to functional leaders, external business partners, and the community to ensure understanding and buy-in

- Promote best practices related to EHS and foster a climate of inclusion across all EMEA sites to optimize employee engagement

- Serve as liaison between the company and governmental agencies as well as the local community

- Provide direct supervision to EHS professionals and managers which include objective setting, performance management, and motivating, as well as training and coaching

The Successful Applicant

To set you up for success in this role from day one, the role requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

- 15+ years of EHS leadership in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

- Strong principle-based coaching and collaboration skills

- Ability to initiate and manage change

- Experienced in establishing and implementing strategic plans and development of tactics to deliver the planned results and continuously improve outcomes

- Demonstrated advanced leadership skills in influencing stakeholders, teams and projects including direction of others and allocation of resources

- Strong leader able to define area customer / business priorities across the value stream and drive a distributed team to deliver

- Possesses understanding of team dynamics and how to resolve conflict

- Mix of manufacturing and EHS functional expertise

- Capability to drive success in a customer first, global, end to end value stream
