The Head of External Reporting oversees coordinating/preparing all external reporting and disclosures to comply with reporting requirements of the group in Switzerland. This role ensures compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS), and other financial reporting requirements. Reporting to the VP - Chief Accounting Officer, this role also works closely with Finance Functions, Tax, Treasury, Business Finance and with other functions in particular with the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Investor Relation and External Communication, Internal Audit as well as the Chief Sustainability Officer.Job DescriptionLead the External Reporting Process: Manage and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including filings, earnings releases, and investor presentations.Compliance and Regulatory Filings: Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (Swiss-GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various internal departments, such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investor Relations, to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial disclosures.Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the drafting, review, and finalization of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.Technical Accounting Expertise: Provide expertise on complex accounting issues and reporting implications of corporate transactions (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings).Coordination with Auditors: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during the audit and review process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all audit-related deliverables.Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement.Board and Senior Management Reporting: Prepare and present external reporting updates to the CFO, Board of Directors, and other senior leaders as needed.Stay Informed on Regulatory Changes: Monitor and interpret changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting and compliance.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's/ Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a CPA is an advantage10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, with a focus on external reporting and filingsExperience in a publicly traded company, experience in stock exchange listing (preferred)Certification and strong understanding of IFRSExperience with SIX Swiss Exchange requirementsStrong asset if you have already participated in a listing process of a companyExperience with regulatory 144A requirements for US investorsExperience with Prospectus drafting (in cooperation with external experts/banks/counsels)Deep knowledge of financial reporting requirements, technical accounting principles and regulationsExperience with financial reporting systems and toolsExcellent communication and presentation skills, great PowerPoint presentation abilityStrong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlinesExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to lead and mentor a team, and work collaboratively across departmentsProfessional fluency in English, German would be a plusWhat's on OfferOpportunity for personal and career advancementBe an active part of a company that is planning a listing at the stock exchangeA collaborative and supportive work environmentContactQuincy WuyepQuote job refJN-102024-6559196Job summaryFunctionCFO & Financial ManagementSubsectorCFO & Financial Management SubsectorIndustryIndustrialLocationZürichContract typePermanentConsultant nameQuincy WuyepJob referenceJN-102024-6559196
