Job Description

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to formulate and implement the company's long - term strategic plans. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities and potential threats, and translate these insights into actionable strategies.
  • Drive the company's strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment of all departments towards common goals. Monitor the progress of strategic projects, make necessary adjustments, and report on strategic performance to the CEO and senior management team.
  • Operations Management
  • Oversee all aspects of the company's operations, including IT, Finance, HR, and Legal functions. Set operational goals, establish performance metrics, and manage the day - to - day operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In the IT area, ensure the company has up - to - date and reliable technology infrastructure, manage software and hardware investments, and drive digital transformation initiatives. For Finance, oversee financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting to ensure sound financial health. In HR, be responsible for talent acquisition, retention, training, and employee relations. Regarding Legal, manage legal compliance, intellectual property protection, and contract management.



Pipeline Progress Oversight

  • Monitor and manage the company's product pipeline progress. Coordinate with R & D teams to ensure timely development and advancement of products through different clinical trial stages. Identify and resolve any bottlenecks or issues that may impact the pipeline timeline.
  • Evaluate the potential of new pipeline projects, conduct feasibility studies, and provide strategic recommendations on product portfolio expansion or realignment.



Business Development

  • Lead business development efforts, identify potential partnership opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions. Negotiate and close strategic deals to enhance the company's market position, expand its product portfolio, and access new technologies or markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and investors. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging business models to drive innovation in business development strategies.



Corporate Governance

  • Ensure the company adheres to high standards of corporate governance. Develop and implement corporate governance policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the board of directors' activities, prepare board meeting materials, and facilitate effective communication between the board and management.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments. Regularly analyze operational and strategic performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline processes, and optimize resource allocation to enhance the overall performance of the company.

The Successful Applicant

  • A minimum of a master's degree in business administration (MBA), healthcare management, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a scientific or technical discipline, combined with business training, is a plus
  • At least 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Experience in managing multiple functions such as operations, business development, and strategy is essential.
  • Proven track record in successful business development deals, including partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions. Experience in overseeing product development pipelines and ensuring their timely progress is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex market and industry data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross - functional teams. Proven experience in managing IT, Finance, HR, and Legal functions or working closely with these departments.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both internally and externally. Must be able to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior executives, board members, partners, and investors.
  • In - depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, including regulatory requirements, R & D processes, and market dynamics. Familiarity with corporate governance practices and relevant laws and regulations is also required.
