About Our Client

Ubitricity is recognised as a market leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the UK. The business has a very clear objective of growing the charging infrastructure to support the move to EV and aims to have in excess of 50,000 charge points by the end of 2025. The Ubitricity network is critical to keep people and businesses moving as they transition to EV's. Ubitricity is entering an exciting phase in their development with a mandate to significantly scale up their EV charging network in the UK. As a result, there is a need to recruit a Head of Operations.

Job Description

Reporting to the MD the key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the MD to achieve objectives that have been set for the next three years.
  • Delivering industry-leading uptime and reliability, providing EV drivers with the service they need and expect from the UK's largest charging network
  • Developing and deploying an operations strategy focussed on the installation and maintenance of the EV charging network that facilitates the mandate for growth
  • Providing inspirational leadership to a small but growing operations team
  • Negotiating contracts and managing key relationships with maintenance and installation contractors.
  • Ensuring there is a continuous focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the growing charging network
  • Understanding and working with the sales team to drive growth and rapid deployment
  • Owning the operations budget and driving the delivery of cost reduction targets
  • Staying abreast of changes in legislation and ensuring new industry standards are compatible with the objectives of Ubitricity.
  • Ensuring HSSE standards are central to how Ubitricity operates

The Successful Applicant

You don't need to come from an EV charging background, however an expertise in electrical engineering and experience of operating large-scale infrastructure projects is key.

The successful Head of Operations will: -

  • Have a demonstrable operations background in a complex, large scale network projects
  • Be experienced in managing an operations team.
  • Experienced in negotiating large complex contracts and maintaining relationships with clients and service providers.
  • Excellent communicator, able to convey complex technical topics to non-technical audience and to contribute to sales efforts when technical and operational presentations are required
  • Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to motivate, guide and energise the organisation.
  • Be consultative in their approach and being able to manage multiple stakeholders at various levels.
  • Interpersonally strong with a proactive 'hands on' style coupled with an excellent commercial awareness
