Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for establishing the strategic vision for the People and Culture department. This role will provide expert and influential leadership on all People and Culture matters, ensuring alignment with the organisation's overall strategy.

  • Organisational Redesign: Lead initiatives that align the people function with strategic goals and vision, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process to attract high-quality talent and standardise onboarding practices to improve engagement and retention
  • HRIS Optimisation: Ensure the effective use of Employment Hero by mapping out best practices and enhancing HR processes
  • Operational Focus: Prioritise operational efficiency and stability, with a view to developing long-term strategic plans once the function is stabilised
  • Leadership Development: Build leadership capability to enhance team performance and foster a positive and accountable workplace culture
  • Employee Relations Expertise: Provide guidance on workers' compensation and industrial relations, supporting risk mitigation across the organisation

The Successful Applicant

This role requires someone with a minimum of 7 years experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong preference for experience in healthcare or aged care sectors. You will also need to hold a current police clearance, valid WA drivers license and full working rights in Australia. If you are successful to interview, you will need to demonstrate where you meet the below criteria:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Proven ability to lead and implement organisational change and cultural transformation initiatives
  • Experience aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive performance and growth



Commercial Acumen:

  • Strong understanding of the funding landscape, particularly in private funding environments
  • Ability to integrate commercial considerations into HR practices and decisions



Talent Management Expertise:

  • Demonstrated success in talent acquisition and retention strategies, with a focus on building high-performing teams
  • Experience developing and standardising effective onboarding processes to enhance engagement and retention



Operational Focus:

  • Ability to prioritise immediate operational needs while planning for long-term strategic goals
  • Experience managing HRIS implementations and optimising HR processes for efficiency



Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Expertise in workers' compensation and industrial relations, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and compliance
  • Proven track record in managing employee relations issues effectively and sensitively



Cultural Advocate:

  • Strong commitment to fostering a person-centred approach in all people practices
  • Passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace



Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong relationship-building skills to enhance collaboration across teams



Results-Driven:

  • A focus on accountability and delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Ability to set and measure KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the People & Culture function



Adaptability:

  • Comfortable navigating a changing environment and managing competing priorities
  • Open to feedback and willing to adjust strategies to meet evolving organisational needs
