About Our Client

Our client is an established company and a leading FMCG player offering a range of instantly recognisable brands, particularly in the food & beverage and personal care sectors. Due to internal movement, they are now looking for a seasoned Procurement/ Sourcing leader to join them to lead their sourcing strategy and to revamp & upgrade their division.

Job Description

Reporting to the Asia President, and leading a sizable team in the region, you will:

  • Lead and develop the overall sourcing strategies covering a broad spectrum of categories - Ingredients/ Raw Materials, Packaging, and Indirect)
  • Develop risk mitigation strategy through close monitoring of market environment to minimimze price risk/ capture opportunity
  • Continue to develop new suppliers while maintaining a strong partnership & network to ensure continuous supply at the most efficient cost while driving quality improvements to support innovative new product launches
  • As a strong leader, establish clear and measurable objectives to the procurement team and ensure they achieve the company and team's short-term and long-term goals both financially and operational
  • As a key representative for the company to engage with government bodies on commodity trading/ regulations issues, minimizing disruption of operation

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should be a degree holder with a minimum of 18 years' experience, out of which at least 12 years in procurement/ sourcing, supply chain or project management area. You will ideally possess the following:

  • Category sourcing expertise in food ingredients and/or commodities with strong knowledge on commodity market and hedging
  • Prior experience working for leading FMCG/ Food & Beverage/ Personal Care or Consumer Packaged Goods company in a leadership role managing multi-cultural teams
  • Track record driving successful procurement or category strategies achieving cost and financial objectives & growth
  • Previous success in driving transformation or change management ideal
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Must be fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
