Job Description

Wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Advise on the planning and analysis of client estates and trust.
  • Draft and review all estate planning, charitable giving, tax and other documentation.
  • Reviewing the current status of the client Estate Plan based on current documentation
  • Providing sophisticated business succession strategies for clients Advising individuals and families on trust structures and private client tax matters.
  • Contributing to a broad range of estate planning matters including edits of wills and various related estate planning documents.
  • Supporting the client by performing general tax and related research and writing.

The Successful Applicant

  • JD from an accredited law school; LLM in Tax a plus
  • Current admission to NY Bar
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the Trust & Estates group (or related area of practice) of a law firm.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience working with ultra high net-worth individuals in the design and drafting of their estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, premarital agreements, and other estate planning documents.
  • Should be experienced with family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, shareholder agreements, installment sales, and other related transactions.
  • Must have excellent communications skills and be able to multi-task and work independently.
  • Must have experience working with a diverse client base within the trust and estates field.
  • Must have experience interacting directly with clients on a daily basis.
