About Our Client

Our client, a family-owned healthcare company, aims to organize and to optimize their group treasury and their financial assets. To achieve this goal, they grow their teams and internalize asset management for some portfolio, setting up a family office in Belgium.

Part of an entrepreneurial team of 10 people based in Brussels, the family is looking for a Investment Manager - who will be responsible for managing Private Equity portfolio dedicated to Mid corp across Global Markets.

This opportunity to start the creation of the Family Office will allow you, to take full ownership of the investment process and the monitoring of participation's, with strong exposure in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Chairman of the company, you will be in charge of the Investment cycle from A to Z (from sourcing to deal making).

  • Responsible for investment decisions
  • Monitoring portfolio participations



The main responsibilities will include:

Investment recommendations

  • Identifying new opportunities of investments
  • Performing sector, competition and macro-economic analysis matching our client's strategy
  • Analysis of investment opportunities / meeting with funds
  • Drafting and presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee



Execution of investments and monitoring of commitments

  • Structure the investment process
  • Financial analysis and financial valuation of the different companies in Portfolio (new investments, cessions, consolidations or restructuring...) as well as performing due diligence's
  • Being able to negotiate and to close the transaction from a business and legal perspective (SPA, term sheets)
  • Monitoring of commitments and coordination with treasury for capital needs



Portfolio monitoring

  • Implementation of portfolio monitoring tools
  • Analysis of investment performance, as well as fund management teams
  • Ongoing communication with private equity fund management teams
  • Reporting and coordination with the back office
  • Preparation of potential exits

The Successful Applicant

To be eligible for this position, you shall demonstrate:

  • A master's degree in economics, Business or alike
  • A previous experience as from 5 years as an Investment Manager in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Corporate M&A, Corporate Finance/TS advisory or Strategy Consulting
  • Previous relationships with fund managers based in Europe or US is a must
  • Fluent in French and English, another European language will be a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Competences to work independently, act as a team player and being reliable and committed
  • Intellectually curious, flexible, rigorous, with a strong sense of autonomy, and down-to-earth
